Other Orientation Sessions

 

  • All incoming residents beginning training July 1 must attend an Erlanger required computer and eCHART (epic) training session (Monday and Tuesday, June 22, and 23, 2020):
    • Mon, June 22 (8:30 AM - 4 PM at 1501 Riverside Drive):  Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics
    • Tues, June 23 (8:30 AM - 4 PM at 1501 Riverside Drive):  Emergency Medicine, OB/GYN, Orthopaedic Surgery, Surgery, and Urology 
  • Wed, June 24, 2020, has been set aside for orientation by your departments and programs.
  • Wed evening, June 24, 2020 -- CANCELLED - Welcome reception on the Southern Belle Riverboat for all current and incoming residents and fellows, faculty, staff, and current residents and fellows.  May be rescheduled laster in the year.
  • Mon, June 29 (8 - 11 AM) -- Required Special Well-Being Orientation led by Dr. Mukta Panda, Assistant Dean for Medical Student Education and Well-Being, with all Incoming Residents and Fellows via Zoom.  Details will be emailed soon.
  • Mon, June 29, 11 AM - 1 PM, TENTATIVE -- all Incoming Residents and Fellows are required to have official UT photos taken in lab coats by professional photographer, David Humber.
  • Mon, June 29, 1:30 PM -- all Residents and Fellows may rejoin their programs for program specific orientation if scheduled by the departments.
  • Tues, June 30, 2020, (8 AM - Noon) -- All Incoming Residents and Fellows who officially begin training on July 1 must attend a one-day required hospital and University orientation.  This year this will be conducted via Zoom.  Included will be sessions with the Dean, Chairs, Program Directors, Erlanger Administration, and our Associate Dean/DIO, Dr. Robert Fore.  Lunch will be provided.  University insurance representatives will be available during the morning orientation to finalize and explain all the insurance plans and benefits (health, hospitalization, vision, dental, life, and disability).  Residents and Fellows may be scheduled after Noon by their departments for specific program orientation if desired.
  • Pending Confirmation:  Wed, July 1, 2020 (8:30 AM -4 PM at 1501 Riverside Drive) -- Cardiology, EMS, and Gastroenteroly incoming Fellows -- Erlanger requirered computer and eChart (EPIC) training session.

We are looking forward to working with you as you enter this next chapter in your medical education training.  We will post department/program orientation planned sessions as those schedules are made available to the GME Department.  Again, we trust that you will understand that, due to the fluid, dynamic, and daily-changing situation involving the COVID-19 pandemic, our plans may continue to change.  Please just keep checking back to this webpage as well as with your individual Coordinator.  Thank you all -- please be careful, safe, and well.  We cannot do this without you!
